help@getarca.co.ukHow to use
Getting started in three steps
Most people are up and running in under two minutes.
Place the pads
Stick the two wireless pads directly onto skin, close to the pain site. The pads need clean, dry contact — no clothing between pad and skin.
Lower back: just above the waistband, one pad either side of the spine.
Neck: base of the skull, one pad on each side.
Press the button
The single button on the controller cycles through 6 intensity modes. Start at mode 1 or 2 — a gentle tingling sensation. Increase the mode if you want a stronger feeling.
You can change mode at any point during the session. There is no wrong setting — find the level that feels comfortable for you.
15-minute cycle
The device auto-stops after 15 minutes. You can use it up to 3 times per day. Most people notice a difference within the first session.
Consistent daily use gives the best long-term result. Many users build it into a morning or evening routine.
FAQ
Common questions
Everything you need to know before and after buying.
Does it actually work?
Yes — TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) is a clinically studied technology. It works by sending low-level electrical pulses through the skin, which interrupt pain signals travelling to the brain and prompt the body to release endorphins, its natural pain-relief chemicals.
Arca uses the same underlying technology found in physiotherapy clinics and hospital pain management units — delivered in a form that is wireless, pocket-sized, and simple to use without a practitioner.
What is the difference between the device and the bundle?
The device comes with one set of electrode pads (enough to start immediately). The bundle includes extra sets of replacement pads so you are stocked up for weeks of daily use without needing to reorder straight away. If you plan to use Arca regularly, the bundle works out better value per session.
How long does each session last?
Each session is 15 minutes. The device switches off automatically at the end, so there is nothing to remember. You can run up to three sessions per day, with a short rest between each.
Can I use it while working?
Yes. Because Arca is wireless and the pads sit under clothing, most people use it at a desk, while reading, or during a commute without anyone knowing. Avoid using it while driving or operating machinery, as the sensation can be distracting.
How often should I use it?
Up to three times a day is safe. For ongoing pain management, daily use is recommended — the cumulative effect of regular sessions tends to produce better long-term relief than occasional use. Many people find once in the morning and once in the evening works well as a baseline.
Will I feel it immediately?
You will feel the electrical pulse immediately — a gentle tingling at mode 1, stronger as you increase. Pain relief itself typically builds over the session and can last for minutes to hours afterwards. Most people notice a meaningful reduction in discomfort within their first or second session. For some, the full benefit takes a few days of consistent use.
Is it safe? Who should not use it?
TENS is considered safe for most adults when used as directed. There are some contraindications — see the safety section below for the full list. If you have any medical condition, consult your GP or physiotherapist before using Arca.
What are the electrode pads? How long do they last?
The electrode pads are self-adhesive gel pads that attach directly to your skin. They are reusable — after each session, return them to the protective sheet and store them in the case. With proper care, each set lasts approximately 20–30 uses. When adhesion starts to reduce, replace them with a fresh set.
Can I use it on my neck and back at the same time?
Yes — and this is one of the key reasons Arca is designed as a dual-zone device. You can place one pair of pads on the lower back and another pair on the neck, running both zones simultaneously. This is useful if you carry tension in multiple areas, as is common with desk workers and people who experience both neck and back pain.
Do I need an app or Bluetooth?
No. Arca is fully standalone — no app, no Bluetooth, no account, no phone required. You control everything with the single button on the device. This was a deliberate design choice: pain relief should not depend on a battery percentage or an internet connection.
What is the 60-day guarantee?
If you try Arca for 60 days and do not feel it has made a meaningful difference to your pain, contact us and we will refund you in full. No returns required, no lengthy process. We back Arca completely — if it does not work for you, you should not pay for it.
How do I return it?
Email us at help@getarca.co.uk with your order number and we will send you return instructions. UK customers get free return postage. Outside of the 60-day guarantee window, our standard 14-day statutory return right applies for unused items.
